If you saw my post from last Wednesday you know that things have gotten crazy at my craft desk. Oh sure I could have just pulled out all the drawers, moved the desk over that one pesky inch, and then stuffed all the drawers back in. However, it seemed more prudent to actually go through everything in all those drawers to find out what exactly was in them. Along the way I came across the Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing.
It doesn't matter exactly what the Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing is for this story. We all know about the Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing. The Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing comes out at the HCA Trade Show, or is seen in a company video, or is demonstrated on an exclusive website, or we read about it coming in a magazine. The buzz about the Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing starts and builds. We all must have it! It is the very tool or product we don't know how we got on without!
Often the Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing comes out and demand exceeds supply. That means some of us have the Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing and some of us must wait patiently to get ours.
I thought this particular Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing was nice and would be useful but I was okay with not being in the first wave of recipients. However, after the first bunch got theirs and raved about how they got it I couldn't wait to get mine.
Then I got mine. I was truly unimpressed. I got along just fine without it and in fact, rarely remembered to use it once I did get it. And I was not alone. Notice I said previously that the first bunch got theirs and raved that they got it? They didn't rave about the actual product. They raved that it was in their possession. Perhaps I should have waited to hear from people who actually used the darn thing first. And so goes the saga of the Latest and Greatest Must Have Crafting Thing.
The Fine Print: Any guesses what product I'm talking about? I'll give you some hints: it's a tool and it's blue and some people really do like it; I'm just not one of them. Stamp by Julie Nutting/Prima, papers, fibers, and embellishments from my stash.

so true, so true.
Love the witch's hat with flower.
Ha ha and you are so truthful and so right. I don't know whIch tool you mean but right now I am glad I have the MISTI and feel I have no use for Fuse tool or powdered pigment colors. And your witch is adorable with or without tool.

Fun cards, especially the diagonal stripes! Love that fiber and BOO! The flying bat is great on the 2nd card with that awesome lime green color! Hmmm.....blue tool - could it be a Quickutz or a Bind-it-all?
No clue, but I don't have it, because I don't have anything blue.
I tend to wait for the first wave of OMG I MUST OWN IT NOW CAN I PREORDER? people to report in on how they actually like something. I finally caved and got the Color Burst powder inks, then everyone said Brusho is better. I probably won't use them.
I also got a laminating machine and foil. Never plugged it in, even, but it's out of the box.
I'm getting better at waiting. Saves a ton of money.
Oh, cute cards. Is that neon green paper?
I'm so glad you prudently went through your drawers, so you could write this post! So funny and so true! Don't think I have a blue thing, but then sometimes that thing comes in a limited edition colour, that you must have because it's better than the original! So who knows?!! We are all now wondering what it is we must have...... Xxx
Oh yes, I can relate! I used to buy everything I saw & thought might be neat, so guess there are advantages to no longer having a LSS. I'm not nearly as tempted when I can't hold the item in my hand before I buy it! I did get one though & it's blue & I don't think it's that great either!! PS--I'm one of the minority who doesn't have a MISTI or Zig Clean Real Brush markers!
Cute witches! I've bought into several newest and greatest things that didn't do it for me!
Well this made me laugh! But for the life of me I have no idea what the blue tool is. Inquiring minds want to know. I guess being poor keeps me from getting the latest and greatest but my birthday's coming up next month and I have requested the Misti - people still seem to love those even after the initial hype has worn off so I hope I made a good choice! I guess I'll know when I get it! Your Halloween dolls are so cute! Love your no-line colouring!
