My coworker and I were heading down to a meeting today when she hesitated. I could see that she was deep in thought. "What's up?" I asked.
"Should I bring a pen to this meeting? It's not like they say anything noteworthy..." She asked.
"Oh, I always bring a pen," I answered.
"Why?"
"You never know when you'll need to write a suicide note."
And that about sums up our meeting. I took some very good notes today though (click it to biggify):
And on a completely different note here's a card I made:

Magical Dragons
Hubby got me the coolest stamp set for Christmas. Here is is in all its magical action. It has several dragons and greetings on it but I was taken by this one. For some reason I had a hankering to make a step card so I combined my dragon with a step card.
I also used up quite a number of snippets to make this and the following card so for once I'm remembering to trot along to Pixie's Snippet Playground where I can show off my new dragons. This second card is a get well card that I made for my mother who caught the Annual Christmas Cold.* I drew little puffies under the dragon's eyes because he was sick.
Well, now I'm off to build a puzzle. Hubby got me a several of those for Christmas too.
The Fine Print: Magical Dragons stamp set by My Favorite Things, designer papers by Pebbles "Garden Party," flower punch by EK Success, swirly border punch by All Night Media, enamel dots by Stampin' Up, yellow sprinkle dots by Doodlebug, step card die by The Stamp Doctor. * Someone in our family always seems to be sick for Christmas. So glad it isn't me for a change.

If you want a kitten....
I have been working on an old horse themed kit. I stashed this previously cut and papered step card into the box. For this card I didn't like any of the stamps that came with the kit so I pulled out an older Stampin' Up one.
To finish off the card I used some snippets of floral ribbon and bits of cardstock to do the die cutting and this card came into being. I decided I had to use one of the greeting stamps from the kit for it though. It put a smile on my face:
I'm going to hook this card up to the "Anything Goes" challenge over at Squirrel's World, because a horse is a perfect example of an anything. Before I go though I shall share with you a bumper sticker my coworker has: Proud owner of a very pretty but completely useless horse.
The Fine Print: Horse stamp by Stampin' Up "Horse Frontier," greeting by Club Scrap "Equestrian," designer paper by unknown, step card die by Stamp Doctor, floral ribbon from JoAnn's, star punch by EK Success, and oval dies from Spellbinders.

Round 'n Round
I guess I'll share my round step card today. I have confession to make. When I make things I want them to work. I don't like to fuss about trying this and that and seeing how it goes. Experimentation is not for me. If I am to try something new it is because someone else mastered it first and is now showing me how to make it.
That said, my big stamp club's card exchange theme was "Round and Round" and you could interpret that however you liked. I figured there would be a few round cards but most of them would feature polka dots. I wanted to do something different. So I spent an afternoon poking around on the Internet.
I found this tutorial on how to make a round step card. I traced and cut out a large round circle and following the directions to immediately put together a mock up of this card. Hey, that was easy and why don't I do that more often? Well, making the actual card didn't go as well and I loused up several tries, but here's my final card. It was fun enough but don't see me jumping on the experimental band wagon. I don't have time for that stuff!
The Fine Print: Circular step card (official name) tutorial from Splitcoaststampers, designer paper by Basic Gray, stamp by Penny Black, circular dies by Spellbinders, ice cream cones hand cut, tops made with SU cupcake punch, and flowers from my stash.

The Little People
Where I work we've had some real winners occupying the position of Head Cheese, and by "winners" of course I mean losers. We've had the guy who tried to pass off his honorary degree as the real deal and the more recent perv-o-matic.
But the one that really sticks in my mind is the one who came to visit our campus Big Wigs (one of whom I work for). When Head Cheese got into the office one of the Big Wigs started to introduce us assistants to him, but Head Cheese waived him off and said, "I don't need to meet the little people. I've already met the important people I need to work with."
And that, my friends is a bad attitude to have.
The Fine Print: No, there's not really a point to this story but there is some poetic justice. See, all us little people are still employed here and respected by the community which are both things Mr. Big Cheese can't claim. House Mouse stamp by whoever is making them these days, kitchen kitsch stickers from someplace or the other, and other stuff from my stash. I'm just chock full of useful info today!

Inhale Deeply
There is a smoke shop (they sell drug paraphernalia, don't let the name fool you) in town named Enhale. Whenever I see that sign it just reinforces the stereotype of a uneducated hippie stoner too baked to be able to spell correctly. When you are trying to pretend to be an upstanding, law abiding business I don't think this is what you want to project.
Then again, I suppose it might appeal to your target audience, who is probably so wasted that they'd spell it the correct way on accident. Dude.
The Fine Print: If you don't talk to your cat about catnip, who will? Really old stamps by Stampin' Up (oldies but goodies, gotta love the classics. Dude.
