It's Thanksgiving today! You know what that means I'll be doing, right?
That means I'll be watching a ridiculous movie and eating movie theater food! How exciting is that. It beats cooking and putting up with family. You are officially allowed to be jealous.
The Fine Print: All stamps and dies by A Muse Studio (3 more days before they close). The movie we're seeing is Badder Santa and we're going to the movie theater that lets you sit in recliners and feeds you real food along with popcorn and milk duds if you are so inclined. Inclined, get it?!

Surprise Pilgrim Owls!
SURPRISE!
Okay, so it is just more pilgrim owl stickers, but weren't you surprised after reading yesterday's post? Didn't I kind of lead you to believe that something different would be here today? No? Well, you're no fun.I used all sorts of leftover bits and snippets to make these cards so I'll mosey on over the to Snippets Playground. Now those guys are fun.

Thanksgiving Owls
When I make a batch of cards I always hem and haw afterward about how to show them on my blog. All at once? Several at once? Piecemeal them out one at a time? There are merits and downsides to doing it either way.
I made these guys with some dimensional felt stickers that I bought a Joann's a coon's age ago. I decided that this was the year to finally use them. I've been trying to decide if pilgrims are politically incorrect or not? Mostly I wonder if cannibalistic owl pilgrims are politically incorrect or possibly morally wrong? You know, whatever, roll with it.
As you can see, I opted for sharing similar cards at once since they are alike and you know what is coming. Just you wait until tomorrow!
The Fine Print: Felt stickers from Joann's,designer paper by Basic Gray (top) and DCWV (bottom), oval die by Stampin' Up, circle die and orange ribbon by A Muse Studio, brown ribbon by Hero Arts, and leaf decorations from Michaels. The coon in question was really old.

Posies and Paisleys
I think pretty much unless you live under a rock you are aware of a new stamp set called Posies and Paisleys from Stampin' Up. It has a coordinating die set, designer papers and ribbon. While I truly liked the colors and patterns of the papers the paisley stamp set didn't really do it for me.
I think some of that is I've spent the last 26 years of my life listening to my husband diss paisleys. "Paisleys don't exist in nature!" he would say. Yeah, well, neither do twinkies and you like those!
However, more and more people were using it and showing it off. I kept thinking that maybe this set wasn't as awful as I first thought. Finally I got a chance to play with it when I made this card. I can say I like it better and I totally love the papers. I'm not sure I'm ready to run out and buy it just yet, give me a couple more hours. *wink*
Look at all those fun little bits and pieces, including the die cuts done on copper foil sheets. It's cool. And this card design isn't as hard as it looks. It's called a double concertina card. Mine is being persnickety about standing up completely straight. It's a bit wonky, like me.
The Fine Print: Weren't you paying attention? Everything by Stampin' Up Petals, Paisleys, Posies and Pish Tosh or something like that. Check the holiday mini catalog.

Gobble 'til you Wobble
For the longest time hubby and I would have cold pizza and colder beer for Thanksgiving. It was a very low maintenance holiday that made many folks jealous. We haven't done that for a while as we started going out to places that had decent Thanksgiving dinners (decent meaning they had something other than ham or turkey to eat, because YUCK).
Even though we haven't done that in years people still say "Happy Pizza Day" to us instead of "Happy Turkey Day." I'm okay with the traditional greeting that you see on the above card that I got from a friend, but this year for the sake of accuracy you can say, "Happy Mama's Beer Chili Day to you!"

Turkey Tag
Now that Halloween is done and over we can concentrate on Thanksgiving and all the things we are thankful for.
I'm thankful for this really cool turkey die. It is going to make Thanksgiving cards a snap this year. I'm also thankful that no one is going to force me to eat turkey on Thanksgiving. I'm also thankful that one of my favorite living museums is open on Thanksgiving Day so I can kill two birds (who aren't turkeys) with one stone. I can enjoy myself and I complete a homework assignment.

One for the Road
I am going to close out this Thanksgiving season with one last Thanksgiving card. I don't believe I shared this with you already, but if I did you can just look at this as more leftovers.... just like the mounds of turkey and ham you have in your fridge right now.

Giving Thanks
Today is the day to be thankful for the things that make life worth living like food, shelter, food, freedom, food, leisure time, food, health, food, folding money, food, and people and pets to share it all with. And no, kitties, that doesn't mean you can eat my dinner.

And to my snarky contingent, sorry I didn't share the story of Suppose you Cooked a Thanksgiving Dinner and Nobody Came.

Blue Cornucopia
I don't have anything for Make Up Monday today. I had planned for finish up the leftovers from the Club Scrap Lock and Key kit I've shared the past few Mondays but that I never got beyond this card...
...which I think is pretty snazzy if I do say so myself. All the papers are from the kit and I wanted to make a fall card with them. I ended up fussy cutting the Tyalored Expressions cornucopia so that it wouldn't cover up so much of that scrumptious designer paper. The ribbon is also from that kit and the spot of bling on the bow is a flat sparkly sticker.
The Fine Print: I already told you all the card details so I'm not sure what you are looking for down here? Maybe a knock knock joke? Knock Knock. Who's there? Orange. Orange Who? Orange you glad you kept on reading?! Orange you glad I haven't quit my day job?!

Knocking Out the Perfect Potroast
Hi! Donna Reed here to show you how to knock out the perfect potroast while wearing pearls and heels.
Or it's just me showing you the version of the Giving Thanks Lady that I'm going to teach at a workshop this weekend. My original one had her in a black polka dotted dress but it was too hard to see the stamped lines (black on black) of her dress to cut out. I also changed the three large pearls to a stamped leaf because I don't have enough large sized French Roast pearls to go around. I might add a couple of itty bitty ones near the leaf to jazz it up a bit as I have plenty of those. I didn't think of it last night when I made the card.
The Fine Print: All products by A Muse Studio. Stamps used--Give Thanks Girl and Calendar Fun; Ccardstock used--French Roast, squash, cherry petite polka dot, and vanilla, Other products used--French Roast grosgrain ribbon and Copic markers R00 and YR21..

Give Thanks Lady
The A Muse Studio catalog kind of glossed over Thanksgiving with just one set of greetings and one more set of a hostess with the mostess in action. I don't think Thanksgiving is a big card making holiday anyway, so it's all good.
I thought it was brilliant of me to paper piece her dress with the dotted paper, but it turns out most of my fellow consultants thought the same thing. Most of them were more brilliant than me and opted to not stamp black ink on black paper.
The Fine Print: All products by A Muse Studio. Stamps used--Give Thanks Girl (which has a greeting that I stamped on the inside of the card), cardstock used--French Roast, squash, onyx petite polka dot, and vanilla, other products used--French Roast pearls and grosgrain ribbon.

Truly Grateful. Truly.
How about that!? I didn't turn on the computer at all yesterday and I didn't even get twitchy.
Of course maybe you got all twitchy because I didn't update my blog. I'm sorry about that.

Thanksgiving Easel Card
The shiny stuff on the patterned paper is where the images were glittered. The paper came that way. It was from a pack of fall Debbie Mumm paper that I have had for years. It was my first exposure to patterned paper with glitter on it. The paper is so wonderful that I’m afraid to use it on just any old card. Every year I challenge myself to use some of it. At this rate I can probably get another 4 years out of that one pack of paper.
Glitter paper is more common now but the Debbie Mumm stuff doesn’t have that weird ozone smell the DCWV’s paper has. I don’t know if is it because this paper never had it to start with or if it just wore off over the years.
The Fine Print: Stamps by A Muse Studio, scallop square punches by Marvy, cardstock by unknown, super cool glittered patterned paper by Debbie Mumm.

Thankful for Green Chili
I don’t have much to say today, except did you know that there still is a whole other holiday to come before December 25 gets here? One could almost forget that given how everyone is going on and on about The Holiday That Will Not Be Named.
Poor Thanksgiving, every year it gets more and more pushed to the side. And speaking of Thanksgiving, what is the obsession with turkey? If you somehow manage to dodge turkey, folks will expect you do have ham instead. Just try having a dinner with turkey or ham and see what slack the world gives you. Just try it! I will be having roasted top round of beef, or maybe even green chili pork pot roast or possibly chipotle cream shrimp & pasta, or maybe even ALL THREE! And you, you won’t be.
Stay tuned tomorrow to see what I can do to make you hungry! I mean, stay tuned tomorrow for the new A Muse Spotlight goodies!

Thankful
This week’s A Muse Studio challenge is to make a holiday themed thank you card or a Thanksgiving card. In keeping with my autumn mood, I made this card for the challenge. I really enjoyed making this card. Here in Southern Arizona our leaves don’t change into all those traditional fall colors. The majority of the trees stay green until they turn brown and fall off (if they shed leaves at all). There is one tree by my house that must be imported from back east because it turns a very pretty red. So the red, green, and brown in this card remind me of autumn as I know it.
If you are a card making person, think about joining in this challenge. You don’t have to use A Muse products and there is a fabulous prize to be had! Plus, it is fun to play and the more cards we have to ogle, the better!
The Fine Print: all products by A Muse Studio, stamps: “Autumn Leaves” and “Turkey Time,” papers: French Roast, Vanilla, and Cherry wood grain, inks: cranberry, French roast, and fern, embellishments: cherry twine and cranberry pearl jewels.
