I haven't got time

Does anyone remember a commercial whose tagline was, "When you haven't got time for the pain?" The commercial was for some pain relieving remedy. The tag line cracked me up though. Like on occasion you're sitting around thinking to yourself: Oh hey, I have some extra time to kill. I guess I'll have some pain.
An acquaintance of mine recently asked me for my opinion about the shenanigans happening across America in the name of.... something. Racism? Revisionary history? Discrimination? Stupidity? Anyway, my answer was that I didn't have time for an opinion.

Which of course set this person off. How can I not have time or an opinion!? Well, because I'm living my life currently and it's a busy one. And also I knew voicing my opinion would then mean I'd have to hear this person's opinion and their opinion of my opinion and I didn't have time for that either.

However, since most of my readers are not from here ('Murica!) I'd like to hear what your opinion is of the situation. Even if you are from here, you can speak up.

I'll share mine and I apologize in advance if you were expecting something inflammatory. A little background first: when Trump was elected my buddy Ed said that he just knew he'd get us into a war. My thoughts on what is happening now: Hey, I'll bet Ed didn't know it was going to be a civil war.

The Fine Print: Not that anything going on in America right now is civil. And also, if you don't have an opinion but you are just sitting back munching popcorn and admiring the trainwreck, do tell. Funny thing about this card. It's from a Club Scrap kit called Hope. That seems to be in short supply right now. Gotta dash! I have some pain I need to schedule.

Rounding Up

It's like this. once upon a time several of us were talking about the cost of those giant rolls of foam tape that you can buy at Office Max. I made the comment that I love those rolls but that the $40 cost was a bit breathtaking. One other lady took exception to my comment. "They aren't $40, they are like $34.99, plus some tax" she exclaimed.

To me though, if you hand over two twenty-dollar bills to someone and all you get back is a enough to buy... well, functionally nothing, that's spending $40.

So my boss is out of town now, but before she left I reminded people who were doing things that required her approval that she'd be gone for three weeks. Everyone retorts back, "She told me two  weeks."
Let's do that math. we'll even make it easy. She'll be back June 13th, so 12 days in June is almost two weeks all on its own plus the 6 days in May she's been gone. Why, by jove that adds up 18 whole days. I suppose that isn't really 3 weeks but it sure as hell ain't 2 weeks either.

And you know, she isn't going to breeze into the office on the 13th and approve everything in sight. Mostly likely she'll sit at her desk all dazed and jet lagged until the first meeting, which runs into the next meeting and the next and maybe a couple of days later she'll get around to approving all those things that were turned in during her absence even though there was no reason you couldn't have gotten off your lazy ass and turned them in before she even left.

Anyway, it's the weekend, why are we talking about work??

Trickery

This card reminded me of being a little kid and playing with random bits and pieces. It's a work of trickery though, the flower is really a chipboard piece printed to look like random bits.
The Fine Print: I got nuthin' for ya except to say I cut the grass with those funky fringe scissors that my friend says were originally made to be a 'personal shredder'. Try that out sometime. It's a lot of work.

A Little Bird

The inside of the card reads "told me..." and then... NOTHING! We have no idea what it was that the little bird said. He might have been repeating a good piece of gossip, or giving us the launch code to some nuclear weapons, or maybe passing on the winning lottery numbers. But no! We'll never know!

The Fine Print: Unless you are in a Disney film you should probably be leery of talking birds anyway. Card parts by Basic Grey except for the wee button acting as a dot on the I to replace the dot that Charles stuck to the pad of his foot and then took on an extended run throughout the house.

Combat Action Stapler

I was crafting in my room the other evening when my husband came in and pulled one of my tools off my desk.  "Wow! Look at this stapler! It means business. It's like a combat action stapler! Oh, look at this--it's a Tim Holtz combat action stapler!"
But, of course.

Whoops

Dear Blogger,
Could you please let my dedicated readers know that I am okay after yesterday's near fatal craft accident. You might want to warn them the dangers of gravity as well because it turns out that if you precariously balance a box of stamps on a high shelf and then crouch down there is a really, really, really good chance that they will come crashing down on your head.  The upside to this crazy turn of events is that they were cling mount stamps and not wood ones so I'm much less concussed today.  'Kay, Blogger? Can you let then know all that? Thanks!
Signed,
PJ
The Fine Print: I'm fine, 'tis but a flesh wound.

I has the dumb

This meme says it all:
Earlier today I was trying to talk to someone about PTK--which is an honor student society and something I was a member of back in the 80's.  I keep getting invited to join but I thought membership was lifetime.  Anyway, I was told I could log onto my account and use the prompts to be reminded my username and password and make sure they had me marked as active.  I had to explain to the poor girl that I was a member before people had personal computers in their homes and the internet was just a baby (or was it just still a sperm and an egg?).  Anyway, I'm getting a referral to the chapter president. I'm sure they are now talking about that dinosaur who wants to rejoin PTK.

The Fine Print: Meme shamelessly stolen from someplace on the internet. You never know, maybe PTK has special scholarships for dinosaurs.  That university stuff ain't cheap.
