Top 'O the Morning

Here's the St. Patrick's Day card I made this year. I made several of the same design since I don't have enough St P's Day stuff to make a variety of card. This was a fun one. My friend gave me this stamp from her stash.

Using Extreme Good Taste

My big stamp club has a card exchange coming up in which we are to use nudes. However, it is supposed to be in good taste. These are to be classy nudes with good breeding and impeccable manners.

Nailed it!

Green Beer Hangover

I'm not sure why I doubted myself, but back on St. Patrick's Day I shared the one lone card I received since I thought I had failed to photograph the one lone card I made. However, I had not forgotten! So here the wee lad is!
I know the holiday is past but I'm too lazy to download any current card photos off my camera. I know that sounds bad, but c'mon, even God had a day to rest.  Not that I'm saying I'm God-like or anything, but if you would like to sacrifice an oatmeal raisin cookie on my behalf I'd be honored.

Luck of the Irish

Today I had planned to show you the one lone St. Patrick's Day card that I made this year but apparently I don't have a picture of it.  So as not to disappoint you, my faithful dozen readers, here is the one lone St. Patrick's Day card I received this year.
I guess St. P kind of got overlooked this year  It happens.  He can go drown his sorrows in green beer and all will be well with the world.

Speaking of the world, I have to tell you about World Market.  They are an import style store with fabulous household things and weird food that often separates hubby and I from our money.  I just adore their email ads; they reflect a life and lifestyle I didn't even know existed.

"Save big on accent chairs! This week only!"  Wait? What? Accent chairs? You means chairs made only to look good and not to be used to say, sit in? Decorative chairs--Is this a thing?

"The sale you've been waiting for all year-50% of dining furniture!"  Because, yes, you need to replace your dining furniture annually so it won't go bad. And how sweet of you to refer to tables and chairs as 'dining furniture.' It sounds so high brow.

"Lovely Lighting-Save 50% on all pendents and chandeliers!"  Wait?  Did you mean necklaces? No, Judy, pendents, because sometimes the word 'chandelier' doesn't sound fancy enough. Or maybe it sounds too fancy; what do I know.
The Fine Print: That right there is a  Large Capiz Lotus Hanging Pendent Lantern. You know a lantern to sound rustic but you can see how fancy it looks.  Have the maid dust that thing.

Important PSA: Saint Paddy's

I have a Public Service Announcement of an important nature. Of course, being a crafty sort I put my notice into card format:
'Tis true, my wee lass, beware of strange men in green bathrobes claiming to have a leprechaun for you to kiss.

Time to hook up with my lovely Sisters in Snark,
whose challenge is brought to us by the letter "P."

A Week of Workdesks

It's time for that weekly blog hop I enjoy so much, What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday.  Rather than bore you with the usual shot of my tidy desk I thought I'd prove to you that I do use my desk and get stuff out.  I decided to take a picture each day when my desk was at its messiest, which is kind of hard to decide when that is.
Above is a shot from the evening of last Wednesday's WOYWW post.  You can see that I've pulled a few things out since the morning and made a few cards.  I had already started to tidy up when I remembered that I meant to photograph first.
This is from Thursday evening.  I was pulling things out for a play date at a friend's house the next day.  I also got out a pile of St. Patrick's stamps and ribbons to remind myself to make something with it.
Friday night has all sorts of things pulled out, cards I made at my play date, cards I made last week, images, photos of snow on Valentine's Day (ick), embossing folders, dies, and my big green directory.
Saturday. You can see the Just Cards magazine I had out to garner inspiration from.  Sorry I didn't take this photo at a good angle to see what all is on there, but it appears to be a lot of the same stuff.  In fact, I didn't pick up my desk Friday or Saturday night.  I paid for it Sunday morning when the cats proudly showed me their crafting handiwork made by tossing the stuff I have off the desk.
Sunday.  I didn't feel like creating anything so I dragged out a bunch of old cards to package up to give to a friend.  I picked up this mess and then made another one after I got in the mood to make some cards.  Then I picked up that mess.
This is from Monday night when I started to play with the St. Patrick's Day stuff.  You can see that I still have some of the same stuff out on my desk, only tidier along the edges--the embossing folders, the cards, the stamps. The card in progress didn't get finished before I called it a night.
And last of all, my desk from Tuesday night which is how it looked this morning since I didn't get anything out. You can see the hanging heart piece that I won from Cindy's February blog giveaway and the pieces of the St. Patrick's Day card I'm working on.  I just tossed it together so you can get an idea of what it will look like.

Putting the Camp in Camp Fire Girls

Here are a couple more Stampin' Up cards I made.  These were not from the stamp camp I mentioned in my last post.
That post made a friend of mine question if I truly never ever went to camp as a kid.  I not only didn't go I didn't know anyone else who did either.  She is much younger than me so perhaps that was something more akin to her generation than mine.  I was a member of Camp Fire Girls and we did an overnight stay at COSI once and that is probably as close to a kids' camp as I've been.  And if that experience was anything like camp, then thank the lord I never had to go.  I loved COSI and all its interesting exhibits.  I absolutely abhorred all the cliche-y Camp Fire girls I had to share the experience with.
So that's my camp story.  I'd love to visit COSI again, but only after teletransportation is invented because I don't like to travel. And only if I can get a written guarantee that I won't have to put up with Camp Fire girls, Brownies or Girl Scouts or any kind of grouped women period.  'Kay?

The Fine Print: And once again it is all Stampin Up stuff.  Yes I should be working with A Muse stuff but I'm not because that requires me to expend creative brain cells and those puppies are sleeping right now.

It's All About Green

I remember as a kid I hated St. Patrick's Day because if you didn't wear green the other kids would come around and pinch you, repeatedly. Of course, being a kid I had far more important things to remember than what date it was so it was only pure luck if I had green on that day.

Luckily, somewhere along the line that pinching stuff fell out of favor.  Perhaps after a few drunken brawls where bones were broken and teeth were lost it was decided that it was better to keep your pinchy fingers to yourself. Anyway, here it is St. Patrick's Day and apparently that even as an adult I have far more important things to remember than the date because it came as a surprise to me.  Little things did clue me in though, like the amount of people wearing green; green Marti Gras beads everywhere; shamrock pins, broaches, hairbands, and light-up flashing glasses; and corned beef tacos on the menu.

And no, you can't pinch me. I'm wearing green.  Green, in the form of guacamole I dumped down the front of my pink shirt, but green nonetheless.

True I didn't remember the date, but I did remember that today is when the Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Expo comes to town and that's way more important to me than pinching people, wearing green, pretending I'm Irish when I'm not, drinking green beer, and eating corned beef.  I think I have my priorities right.  I made this card at a make and take there:
