Tag, You're It

My stamp club does a tag swap each month when we meet. I don't usually play along mostly because it slips my mind and also I'm not really a tag kind of person.

I played this month though because the theme was "Life's a Journey" and a tag by any other name is a bookmark. That just worked too well together for me to pass up.

Not the best photo because I took it in the middle of a thunderstorm in the dark under my desk lamp which gives off some sort of unearthly light, but you get the idea.

Wild Tag Art

So I was poking around in the depths of my craft closet and I found four sheets of punch out tags with various sayings on them. The four sheets all had the same tags on them and came two different colors. I figured I should at least use one of the sheets and I set to work making these.

For some reason I felt the need to include a wild animals theme along with these tags. As you can see my version of "wild animal" is pretty tame.

I ran out of steam after 3 cards but at some point I may just finish off that sheet of tags.  I am kind of pondering one of the tags though, thinking maybe I should cut off who said the quote. He's kind of a controversial figure these days but back when these were printed he was just a run of the mill millionaire businessman.

Destination: Inspiration Lane

I've been keeping my eye out for challenges that inspire me to use my stuff and do something different or at least something I haven't thought about in a long time.  So when I came across a blog called Inspiration Destination I knew I had to check it out.

Their weekly challenges are always Anything Goes and while that paints a pretty broad stroke and didn't really channel me in any one direction or the other, the sheer number of participants from all over doing whatever they wanted was very inspiring.

I decided to jump out of the card making box and make a tag for Valentine's Day. I'm rather proud of this as I don't usually do anything remotely artsy and I think this came out rather well. I enjoyed finding different bits of this and that to add to my tag including all those scrumptious fibers (remember when they were all the rage?).  There is another punched heart tied into the fibers like a secondary tag.

Workdesk #284

Hi doods! I'm Dio here to share workdesk Wednesday wif you all and be nosy and wook at desks all days long.  Julia is hosting number 284 for us today.  My mom tooked terrible piktures today, except for mine cuz it is hard to get a bad foto of Dio! My mom cood do it though!

The desk is boring though becuz mom pikked it up again. It is becuz she coodn't fink of any playing to do and there woz tape on it and my sister Cindy tried to eat it all up.  Dat's so weird.  So mom tooked a foto of the table too cuz it haz stuff on it.

 

Dis is some fings my mom wants to work on. She gots sum scarey crow doods and a die cut fing that cuts and folds so yew need dubble sided papers for it.  By the ways, I had to hold the scarey crow doods down so they woodn't excape!

 Dis is a card my mom maded for a swap and there had to be a tag on it.  Not a price tag! But if it had a price tag I wood say sell it for a hundered million dollars!  And then gibe sum to me! And mebbe buy my dad a new mote control.  Hiz is broked. I dint do it.

The Fine Print: Mom sez sorwy, she try to make a messes for next week.  All the stuffs on the card are by A Mews Studio except the brown inks wot is made by sum dood named Tim. I guess yew all no him bery well. I neber met him.  Love, Dio xx (that's kisses not a beer).

Just a Minute!

There are so many variations of the saying, "Just a minute."  We have these: just a sec, just a second, just couple seconds, I'll be right there, I'll be right up, I'll be right by, in a jiffy, wait a minute, wadaminnit, in a moment, just a moment, uno momento, one moment, one moment please....

What they all mean though is that you will be with me when you are darn good and ready and not before.  I have leaned that none of those time frames involve an actual 60-second long minute.

What I'm really learning where I work is that all these variations of "just a minute" mean that it could be later today or later this week.  They rarely mean anytime in the immediate future and certainly not within the hour.

So you might as well sit back, relax, and watch the smoke pour out of your $30,000 MFP.

The Fine Print: There really isn't any smoke coming out of the MFP. There might be some coming out of my ears, but it is pointless really.  I might as accept that I can't do my job until that elusive minute is up.  Hmmm... might as well update my blog.  Faux brads and stamps by Stampin' Up "Pretty Petites" and "Flower Shop," designer paper and matching tiny bag (and the tag inside it) by Fancy Pants "Park Bench," fibers from my stash, and swirly die cut from Memory Box.

Tag! No, You're It!

I have pondered the latest A Muse Studio challenge since it was posted on Monday.  The challenge was to make tags.  I'm really not much of a tag making person.  I recently made tags for a one-layer challenge and  even though I was proud of myself for not only making, but actually using those tags I was rather tagged out. But in the spirit of the challenge, I thought I'd come up with something.

And I thought that all week until yesterday when the light came on!  Calendar tags!  I make them every year.  I totally forgot about them this year and that's kind of a bummer because I usually send them out with holiday cards but many cards have left the building without a tag enclosue.  Ah well....

One Layer Challenge - Tags!

The current One Layer Wednesday challenge (check it out here) was to make one layered tags.  I'm just not a tag making kind of gal.  So I looked at the challenge and thought, "Well, I probably won't be doing that one" and promptly forgot about it.

Then last night I decided I should do something with my new HolidayTags set by A Muse to use it as a featured product (hint, hint) and made a bunch of tags.  No kidding!  After I made them I realized what a happy coincidence that was and here are my one layered tags for OLW71.

This is a really fun set!  It has 10 different images, 9 greetings, and the "to" and "from."  I wasn't sure I even wanted it at first but now I am glad I have it.  These tags worked up really quickly.  I made these after work, after dinner, after screwing around for awhile, but before bedtime, so see?  Easy peasy!
