Workdesk Wednesday - The 2nd First Day

Welcome to the second first day of school.  See, I work at a school where the classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursday.  What that translates to is we have two first days of school.  I know today will be better than yesterday because for one thing I don't have my underwear on inside out.  But you didn't come here to hear about that.  You came to snoop around on my desk and see what I'm up to and if I managed to finish any of the projects in progress I pointed out last week.  Let's bring on the What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday hosted by Julia:
I know this photo disappoints many because it is rather tidy.  Sorry, but it is what I do because if I don't I'll have to spend what little time I have after work picking up instead of playing.  Or I'll come home to find out the cats have done some paper crafting.  Let's just say they think wrinkles and teeth marks are the in embellishments.  But, look, I do know how to make a mess:
This is from this weekend. It was heaped higher but I had started to pick up before I thought to take a photo for y'all.  I was working on Valentine's cards.  Except for finally using my new Lawn Fawn set I did not do any of the projects I pointed out last week.  The House Mouse with purple underfoot is still around, as are the purple flower rejects, and that funky cat I've stamped and colored.  Besides those I have added some new projects shown in the top photo. On the right hand side of my desk are Valentine card kit I was given a couple of years ago. I want to use that and the store-bought heart embellishments under them.  I have several Stampin' Up wood mount sets tucked on my desk to make cards for various occasions--birthdays, cheer up, a vintage themed swap.  So we'll see what we get accomplished in the following week.
Here's a card I made with that set on my desk  Check it out, I even managed to use one of those store bought hearts on it--only 25 more of those things to go!  Here's a close up the card kit and the hearts.  There is also a packet of Bo Bunny stuff that I don't think I'll use this year and a Basic Gray card kit that may or may not get used.  Stay tuned...
The Fine Print: Stamps on card by Lawn Fawn "Science of Love" set, heart embellishment by K&C Company, designer paper by Basic Gray.  For those of you paying attention to my Christmas card progress and the one set I have on my desk that I dislike--I haven't made any cards but I did make a decision to get rid of that set.  That's progress.

You are looking far too tidy there this week but I understand why, sounds like life is hectic. I had to smile at the inside out underwear!!
Love your Valentines card. I need to make a start on those!

Panties inside out is one thing, backwards is an other, so your safe here!

Your stash of kits is one reason I quit buying kits of any kind. I never would get around to using all the stuff and couldn't bring myself to trash what I didn't like.

Winkles and teeth marks could make some interesting embellishments. My dog seems to think the same as your cats, and she will pick up anything I happen to drop and embellish it for me.

Have a great week

I've worn clothes inside out to school before which the kids thought was hilarious!! Ah well, I'll never be elegant...sigh.
And I'm sure that there must be a gap in the market for a cat tooth edge punch ;-)

Underwear inside out - that made me giggle a bit. It is my dog who steals anything that is not nailed down and can make one tiny tissue cover a complete room. It is her mission on life to tear it up as much as she can before I reach her. I was quite impressed the other day, though, as she picked up a card and held it very delicately and gave it up unharmed. Maybe there is hope for her yet. The tidy desk does not disappoint, just fills me with admiration when I look at my wreck. I have decided to get rid of anything I have not touched for 2 years, any kits I haven't used and any red rubber or non see through stamps. That effectively limits me to the ones I really like, the Clarity stamps and also Hobby Art scenes. Anything else is going! Hope you get your projects at least on the way. xx Maggie #21

Sorry, Judy, but just HAD to laugh at the thought of the inside out underwear! Hope your second first day went really well!
Thanks for visiting earlier. Glad you like the felted piece. The meal was indeed a success, and the fact that it was donations rather than a fixed price, meant we raised loads for the children in Uganda!! Thought some pics would be good, as that has been my workdesk this week... I've now made 5 of the bags in the last 2 days - they are given out to the top class of children - something to keep when they leave, graduate etc.
Have a great week.

Cute card... always very impressed with how organised it looks inside your desk... If I had a close-able desk it would look like chaos inside!!

great looking desk and cards! The underwear inside out made me roll...I dropped drawers the other day and sure enough I was inside out and then to make matters worse I had one black and one navy blue sock on. It was one of those days. I hoped everyone who saw me thought I was an eccentric purple haired old lady! and no I didn't mention my underwear! Thanks for visiting my desk this week! Little late getting around this week but hey it is better then never making it to the party! Hope you have a crafty week! Vickie aka Okienurse #53

I'm visiting late this week, but I had to let you know your tidy desk has made me tidy mine (a little!) I think your cats are just trying to help you come up with some unique designs!

For being number 1 last Wednesday, I've sure taken a long time to return your visit. I apologize and blame it on Blogger and life getting in the way.

I LOVE a tidy desk. I'm a neat freak, so you definitely didn't disappoint. Nor did you disappoint in the laugh department. Had to laugh at the underwear. I don't wear any, so I will never have that problem (grin). Again, happy belated WOYWW.
