I often check out the Pals Paper Art challenges so I can be inspired by them. Sometimes they do color challenges and sometimes they do sketch challenges and ofttimes I see things that make me think I should try them, but I don't.
But then Susan of Simple Stampin told me I should just jump in and join the challenge. Well, she didn't tell *me* exactly; she told all her readers that it was easy peasy and we should try it out. She spelled out the guidelines nicely too. I needed to make a birthday card for someone so I thought I would use PPA186's challenge as a guide, which meant using these colors:
I actually have an Island Indigo marker and some paper so I could stamp in the designated color even though Susan said we didn't have to use Stampin' Up products (so I could have substituted a similar color). It was fun playing around. I miss using patterned paper though, so maybe I should hold out for their sketch challenges instead.
And the inside:
Since I'm so heavily medicated I kept to simple card. Metallic and shimmer papers make me nervous so it was fun to be forced to use it. I hope you like my offering!
The Fine Print: Gold paper from stash, flowers by Prima, all other products Stampin' Up--"Bloomin' Marvelous," "Make a Wish," and "Best of Birthdays." Heavy meds or no, I can see it is time to recharge the batteries.

Sometimes it is good to try something new, and you did well with this considering your current medical state - in fact, I really like your card, that blue against the gold makes a stunning statement. Good job done missus! Hugs xx
Striking card, Judy! I love that flower on the gold foil. You did a great job and we're so glad you joined at the Pals Paper Arts this week!
Hello Princess,
The card is great. It's always nice to see what you come up with.
I sure hope you start feeling better soon.

Judy, this is a great take on the color challenge. Love that bright yellow-gold with the brilliant blues. I'm with you on the challenges...I tell myself I ought to enter more, then I don't. Good intentions and all that! Sure hope you are soon feeling better. It's hard to feel crafty when you are not up to par! TFS & Hugs. Off to enjoy some more of your cards in earlier posts.
Thanks for reminding me to use my stash of paper flowers! I love how you layered them on this pretty card!
Mm Judy turned out well!!!
... but know what you mean now I would need some embossing myself..
DP isn't so essential..
I love the snowy offerings below too and get well soon! Shaz in Oz.x
