Merry Monday Ornaments

This week over at the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge Blog the theme is ornaments.  I originally pulled out a different stamp and planned to get fancy with it, adding on layers and die cuts and generally pretending to be someone I'm not.  I was up for the challenge though!

That is, until I actually sat down to do it.  By then I was feeling melancholy and blue so I switched gears and made a simple card.  I was pleased with myself that I used some designer paper with words on it because I don't much care for it but I like how it looked with this image.

I was concerned that my card was too simple, so I wrapped some ribbon around the edges like I've done before.  Then I wasn't so sure that was the answer so I went to make a fancy double bow to add on.  Forty minutes later I gave up, as for the life of me I couldn't remember how to tie one on my bow-maker (and I never knew how to tie one without it).  So I mocked up a fake double bow.  I'm pretty sure it is a disaster.  I asked the cat his opinion and he gave me one of those you-poor-pathetic-human-being looks.  On the bright side, it isn't horrible and I've got one more Christmas card made.
The Fine Print: Stamp by Hampton Arts, designer paper by DCWV, bling by Hero Arts, ribbon from my stash.  Please don't fret about my blue and melancholy mood, it was due to getting bad allergies from my allergy shot and then taking one of those coma-inducing allergy pills.  I'm a little dazed still, but much better today!

You asked a cat? See, that's the problem, they are too finicky, if you had a dog, he would have said it's great!! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina ♥

Brilliant card - and I almost wet myself here laughing at others comments. Either get the cat glasses or get a dog - cool advice :))

Double bow and the bow maker - err, checked my own destructions with mine here and can't help. Tried Googling the internet?

Whatever PJ, the card is great!

Hugs, Di xx

I'm agreeing with Lynn...better get him to a Kitty Opthamologist for an eye check. I like your dp, and it's great with this simple image too. Your bows look dandy, (and if its the Gina K bowmaker - the plastic one that does several sizes - I always have to go watch her video!) I can do the little wooden peg deal. Got one of the Zutter Bow-tie thing-ys, not used it yet. May be too ignorant to learn, and I don't do that many bows. But I like'm. And yes the NWoods stamps are sometimes rather large. BUT they stamp wonderfully well, are very detailed rubber. AND I like their images. I am always on the lookout for them. Will check on the Easter tree. TFS & I hope the blues just left after you created your pretty card. Hugs

I do the same things with my cards...finish it and then add a simple touch that makes it so much better. The ribbon and bow are the perfect touch for your card.

I'm laughing at your start...I do that all the time (i.e., "pretending to be someone I'm not" but up for the challenge until I actually sit down to do it and things change!). I really love that ornament image, it is quite perky and fun...and I love your card!
