A Penny Black Challenge

I confess that I did not play with my DeNami hearts yesterday.  Previously, I ran across someone's blog who made a card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog and of course, I had to go immediately and check that out.  I hoped to get involved in the next challenge because Penny Black is an old favorite.

But first I had to visit a local scrapbook store that is closing its doors.  They plan to relocate but at this time do not have a new location to locate to.  Whilst wandering the store I came across a Penny Black stamp. I was surprised.  Being a scrapbook store, they carried few stamps and fewer still wood mounted ones.  I haven't had a new PB stamp in a long, long time.  It was meant to be.  Now that stamp is mine and I used it for the PB Saturday Challenge #183.

Challenge #183 is to CASE the card shown.  I've talked about CASEing before here for those of you not in the know.  Basically you copy the design of another card.  The idea is to make a card that folks can tell was inspired by the original.  For the challenge, we had to CASE the card, using at least one Penny Black image, large sentiment, or stickeroo.

I had fun creating this card.  It has been awhile since I've used so many layers and elements on one card.  I have the PB image, a large sentiment, all the layers from the original card in about the same place, three stars in the upper right corner, more stars around the sentiment, and a Jolee's cupcake.  I confess to tearing the original cupcake liner off and creating this one to have a color that matched better.  I totally enjoyed playing.  And that folks, is the way it should be.

The Fine Print: Stamp by Penny Black "Cushy", sentiment by A Muse Studio, cupcake sticker by Jolee's (part of a set of many cupcakes), Bermuda and Eucalyptus cardstock from A Muse Studio, Bright Yellow from DCWV, and unknown patterned paper.

It's a great card! As I was reading, I thought this was going to be all about distractions that end up with card!

The kitty seems to be very pleased that you found (and used) a PB stamp. I must admit, I am unfamiliar with this line - looks like I should find out more about it.
