Make Up Monday

Quite awhile ago Taylored Expressions was showing off their tree die and all the wonderful things you could do with it.  There are tree accessories you can buy as well as some background stamps to make a scene.  I decided I needed to be able to make these cards too, got the stuff, and then made this card.  I was immediately not that thrilled with it.  One of these days I need to get these dies and stamps back out and give it another chance.
This is another card made with Taylored Expressions stuff.  I used to get their kit of the month, stamps, matching dies, papers, and embellishments.  They were fun enough but like most kits I only made a few cards and then hoarded the rest of the stuff (fully intending to get around to it again "some day").  This card is CASEd from Jen Shults (one of the TE designers).  I was a bit stumped what do with this kit and when that happens I often CASE a card or two to get motivated.
Here's one last card that I made at Stampin' Up workshop awhile ago.  I was the only one that showed up and had a blast playing.  That front smaller piece is attached to the main card via a Z-fold so the card will actually stand up by itself.
Here's the card completely opened:
The Fine Print: Top two cards made with Taylored Expressions goods, the second card is from their October 2013 Stamp of the Month kit, the bottom card all the stamps are Stampin' Up "By the Tide" set, background made with alcohol inks, coral white embossed onto a transparency for a nifty look.

I don't know why you're not happy with the first card - I think it looks so cool! The camera card - LOVE it, especially the fun arrow. And OH EM GEE that alcohol ink background, and the CORAL! I think that one's got to be my favourite :)

All three cards are fab, but your stampin up one just makes it as my favourite too - I can tell you had a blast making it! xxx

It would seem to me that artists are the hardest people to please when it is themselves. That's me too. LOL. All three cards are great. The first for its simplicity. The second for the neat way the message is conveyed. The third is good old WOW factor and just flat out gorgeous.

Gosh, I love the dimension that tree adds to the card! I had no idea Taylored Expressions sold things that all went together like that. Time of go check out their site in more detail.

i kind of feel that way about the tree too. have you ever noticed what one company does they all seem to do all in about the same time frame. many of the companies had these trees and i never really got pulled into them even though i liked the DT examples.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the SU fish card. and i like your apple too but oh that folding stuff just isnt in me much though i think it is beautiful. and once in a while for a challenge i will do it. and for orders.

Love that little village and the camera card is perfect for a guy! And the fish are so pretty with that background! I'll have to remember about embossing the coral on transparency!

I am drooling over that gorgeous sea weed in the bottom card...the Zfold part of it is neat!
The second is hip and fun looking and the first is fine. As you say, practice makes perfect but this one is fine too.

Brilliant cards - the underwater one is just fab with the hidden seahorse, and gorgeous background. Love the layered camera too, with those funky patterned papers against the krafty background. Very cool!
