Rudolph Day

It's time for this month's Rudolph Day challenge.  I had great intentions to do some wonderful things with the Christmas stamps in this set.   I've not used them before so this would give me a chance to try them out.
However when it came time for the reality the only stamp that I felt like playing with was the toy soldier and even then I had to try a dozen different things before I came up with something I liked.  Twice, since the challenge calls for two cards.
I kept them pretty basic since that's my style and anything else would have been madness. In the end I was quite pleased with both of them.  And who knows what next month will bring. Maybe I'll try out the other  holiday stamps in that set!

The Fine Print: Stamps by Tim Holtz, because you couldn't figure that out from the photo, oval dies by Spellbinders, holly leaf dies by A Muse Studio, ribbons and bling from my stash. And yes, you've seen many of the other stamps in action on my blog; it is just the holiday ones I haven't used before.

Two gorgeous cards there - love the choice of background papers and the toy soliders look so different from each other.

I have the toy solider sizzix die and love it - reminds me of the children's story of the same name xx

Brilliant Judy, a perfect card for a little or big child. The different coloured papers match perfectly, and the holly looks fab.

Both are gorgeous, but I think the blue is my favorite. The colors really pop on both.

The basic-ness of your cards lets the stamp shine on it's own. I like how you made them look so different by changing up the color scheme.

I love that little toy soldier - and especially in all the bright blue! Two wonderful cards for Christmas now and both so pretty. Can't beat that!

Some of them there stamps look a bit tricky to use (skull one for instance) . . . but I love what you've made with the toy soldier. Very graphic. And cool.

Thanks for joining in with Rudolph Day.

Now you have me humming the toy drummer boy tune. I know different toy but very similar. Love both cards. Nicely done.

I've wished that stamp set was in my collection--love how you used the toy soldier for both of these great cards!

I love that soldier. The simplicity of the base card lets the image be the focal point, as it should be. Fantastic cards. Lynn x

Two extremely smart uniforms. I've some blueprints I never seem to get around to stamping, so even using one stamp in the set you're ahead of me and my good intentions...
