Flutterby

There's a new challenge out there that is all about our favorite insect--the butterfly.  The very first challenge at the Butterfly Challenge blog is called Butterflies and Flowers.  You have to use at least one of each on your project.

I wanted to make something bright, fresh and spring-like and this background paper immediately sprung to mind.  Of course, I had to dig the Valentine stash back out to get at it but I think it was worth it.

After all the delicate frills on the paper and die cuts I felt my butterfly should be fairly solid, so I used this one, which was my very first butterfly die ever.  I thought he looked a little naked so I gave him a jeweled head.  Then I decided that made his body look off so I jeweled that up too.  Now I'm not so sure it isn't excessive, but hey, I'm known for that.

The Fine Print: Hello greeting by Endless Creations; heart, scalloped heart and butterfly dies by Spellbinders; Valerian flourish (chopped in half) by Memory Box; flowers by Prima, brads and jewels from my stash.

I'm in seventh heaven with all of these butterfly cards. I love the colours on yours Judy. My first butterfly I ever owned looks very similar even though it is a Quick
Kutz die and is still my favourite. I love the jewels on his head and body. Not over the top at all. (If it works for Liz Taylor it works for me!)Thank you so much for fluttering by my new challenge. Hugs Mrs A.(Butterfly challenge).

Whoa, look at all those beautiful spring flowers! Love it, PJ. And I think your butterfly NEEDS to be bejeweled to go along with the beautiful background (I swear I had wallpaper just like that once), stunning flourishes, the scalloped heart, and the frilly flowers! Nothing less would have done! I know Mrs. A. will lurve it!! Hugs, Darnell

PJ, this is truly a work of Springtime, with one of my favorite color combos. Love your butterfly but especially taken with the way you used the Valerian Flourish to trim behind the pretty heart. Am loving that background paper too. Wonderful card for Mrs. A's 1st butterfly challenge. TFS & Hugs. (PS..airbrushing is easier than the Dylusions for me!and fun too.)
