Today's Workspace #293

I have to admit that my desk is boringly tidy again today.  I had to pick it up last night because I had loose dies and stamps rolling around, threatening to be lost forever.  Besides I was trying to figure out what to work on next and thought a clean slate would help me decide (it helped me decide I should go to bed).
I have a new desk organizer up top! I ditched the old one with the tape dispenser since apparently tape is very tasty to certain cats. I got these new tape dispensers which so far are proving to be cat-proof.  I like the washi tape one so I can keep my current go-to tapes on my desk.  You can set them up so when you open the dispenser all the tapes have a piece pulled out. I opted not to do that because I plan to swap out tapes fairly often.
Since my desk is dull here is my craft shelf across the room.   Since this is my living room my goal is to replace the plastic bins with... um.... NOT plastic bins.  It is slow going since I have to find things I like and that look good together, plus not plastic is not cheap!  The newer bins hold less but that encourages me to downsize.
Least you think that is all the stamps I own, let me share with you a peek into the hall closet.  That's where the mother lode is.
If you like to check out other people's work desks, work spaces, and on-going projects go visit What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday and have a poke about.  Before I leave you, here are a few of things I think I'll be working on over the next week. I still have all the die cuts from last week but I had to tuck them away because those are tasty to cats too.
The Fine Print: Anyone notice the cards on the bulletin broad behind my desk? They range from fall, to H'ween, to Christmas, to New Year's to Valentine's.  I am slowly transitioning new ones up.  The washi tape dispenser is by Scotch tape. It came from Staples.  You need one.  I don't care if you own more than 10 rolls of tape, you need one for your desk, cats or no cats.

Ah, so there is a mother lode! I am thrilled that I could go to hang my coat up and discover your life's stash! But I guess once you've told people where it is, you don't invite them over, huh! Your desk looks fab I must say, and I agree, the little blob type dispenser is desirable..but I'm resisting..just now \I can't place a single thing more on my desk!

I lurve all your storage! It's so organised and wonderful....I love it when you know exactly where all your stash is and don't have to waste time searching for stuff. I also love sets of drawers so every photo appealed to me today...thanks!!

I'm close to not being able to craft at all & will have lots of permanently lost items if I don't clean up my table & the 2 spare rooms with stamping stuff--LOL! Clearly I have way more stuff than needed--how does that happen?! Had to laugh about the cats. At my house it's a puppy who will swallow anything he can reach, so the stamping table (room connected to the living room) is blocked off & so far he hasn't figured out he actually could jump the barrier if he wanted to!

Oh My! All your {things} so organized...I work in a very small 6 x6 square on a large wooden desk! I don't know what or who takes up the other spaces..I have drawers with hidden goodies that have not seen the light of day for months. I might, just might tidy up! You have certainly made me give it some thought lol.

This looks like a shop to me! Did you clear up for the photos, or is it always like that?

Hello Princess Judy,

Wow! I'm so glad you shared your hiding places! Some things that I use on my shelves in the living room are little mini suitcases that I bought at Michael's. They go on sale and you can always use the 40% coupon off. I also buy baskets when they are on sale. I do try to buy matching things but sometimes when I go back for another box, etc., they don't have exactly the same thing.

I love the cute little stamp set on the last photo - the one on the left.

Thank you for visiting me already!
Happy WOYWW

Wow, you are so organized. Yes, some kitties like to chew on plastic. One we had a few years ago liked to gnaw on the corners of plastic packaging. We never did understand why.

Thanks for your visit to my blog and for the nice comments.

Happy creating & Happy Woyww,

It looks as though you have the odd one or two stamps there to catalogue. The vodka trick came from another friend, Gill Allardice. I have not tried it yet as I do not keep vodka - not my tipple of choice. I will be having a go very soon. Hope you have a good week with all your lovely stash. xx Maggie #27

Oh I like your Mother Lode closet much better than that supremely attractive & tidy desk (pretty though it is!). The closet makes me feel more at home!!! Good for you at finding some workable storage for the washi. Ditto on eliminating the plastic. (That's not real cheap either, but more so than the customized storage at some of the organizing places!). Looks like you have a nice setup. Enjoyed the little tour. TFS

Your storage system is so beautifully organised and matches your desk. I think I might be the only one who collects washi tape and rarely uses it... far too pretty.

I approve of the Mother Lode. I also approve of how your craft has taken over the house. Well done!!!

And yes, one could purchase one of those 10-tape washi things, but what's the point? I don't need one. I'd need about 25, and ... never mind.

Talk about mother lode. Boy do you put my few stamps to shame. You have TONS. Paper, too. I'm super impressed and LOVE all that washi tape. Thanks for visiting while I was away. Happy WOYWW from #2, because it's still Wednesday in my world.

Oh My, My, I do like those industrial looking storage units......very popular right now. While looking at model homes, where they used a LOT of industrial pieces, the DH just laughed and questioned each piece.......Men!!!!!

Like Leslie, I would need more than one or two or three or four or more Washi tape holders...................would rather have the industrial storage!!! LOL

Thanks for the visit this week, sorry about being late for the return

Love the dispenser - also loving the idea that you have to cat proof your supplies. My old moggy is actually very well behaved, the worst she does is rummage in the rubbish (she likes the rustle). Thanks for the visit, happy belated WOYWW, Cindy x

Ooh you little tinker, you have stash hidden away elsewhere! Does hubby know?
You seem to be so very organised and I love the tapes you have.
I have always loved your roll top desk and now I have to see across the room at other storage - now what are you changing it to? Canvas? Rush? mmm.. can see I will have to wait and see.
