Sanding

People like to dry emboss backgrounds and then sand  them so the core shows though.  It gets the dry embossed image to really pop.
I did it here and really makes the background look like old bricks or worn cobblestone  I'm not a big fan of sanding though.  I swear I always feel as though I've coated my body and desk in grit afterward.  Don't hold your breath expected me to invest a lot of money into scenic embossing folders.  I'll let those other people do it.

You're absolutely right, it makes a difference. I have a teeny and ing block in my stash, I use it to lightly rough up stamps that are new first and foremost...it's artistic endeavours rely on my remembering to use it. And I don't, usually!

That's a really good EF to use for sanding. I hardly ever to it, but partly just because I always forget about it.

That old bruck look you achieved with the sanding of the embossed card looks fab. Great card!

I love the combo of the weathered brick embossing along with that delicate die cut! They work so well together!

What Carol said. Also, I just did this myself yesterday - sanded a dry-embossed piece of co'ordinations card stock. I liked it a little, but it's trash now. Kudos for yours making it to the card!

I don't sand either. I tried it once and it didn't thrill me! I like the look of your old bricks!

Well I like the look of your old brick, but, sounds as though you had a lot of dust to go with it lol..Not for me!
