Workdesk Whatever

I am totally cranky today and this is why:

That's right!  Little red sports cars-Hrmph!  No wait, I mean the YELLOW trees.  They are everywhere and I'm so deathly allergic to yellow that it is totally eating my sensibilities and good nature.  It is also overcast as heck today, but it's not even going to rain making the ache in my leg worthwhile.  AND it is secretary's day and I should be at a day spa courtesy of my boss.  Right?

But I'm not.  I'm not even here, home, where the desk is.
I know it looks like it usually looks, but true WOYWW connoisseurs can see the differences--that I changed out one of my X-cubes of markers and tidied up the desk cubbies.  Of course, you noticed that!  I plan to pass my Marvy markers on to folks who have not yet discovered the joy of Copics since I never use them anymore. I did keep the few Tombows I have, some Sharpies, gel pens, and these funky markers for "overhead projectors."  Do folks even use those anymore?  Overhead projects I mean, not the markers for them.

 And here's a cat, because, that's that.

The Fine Print: Okay, okay, Administrative Professional's Day or whatever silly title you call us these days. We know who runs the place.  Yellow tree by Mother Nature "Palo Verde," all other photos by Whatizname, that dude I married.

Boo to Yellow trees! Boo to missing Secretary/Administrator/Dogsbody day! Boo to the demise of the Overhead Projector......
Hooray for the fact that you've blogged amidst the chaos and the fact that your cat still rules the world :)

My sister suffers terribly with Hayfever and our local area is surrounded by yellow rape fields. She hides in Summer or has red streaming eyes whenever we see her. Whereas I love the smell of the fields. I do feel for you.

Just recently expanded my Copic stash - no others compare do they? Love them.

Princess Judy,

The tree is beautiful but it's a bummer that you're allergic. My nose is stuffy too. Don't you love spring!!

Yes, secretaries (administrative professionals) do rule! They are the people that actually run the offices. I had a boss tell me it's my job and there shouldn't be a day to celebrate someone just for doing their job. I agree - no Boss' Day for him!

I don't know... Princess Cranky Pants has a certain ring to it. ;-)

I have tried local honey and it does work. However, I don't eat sweets much so the sugary aspect of the honey leaves me feeling lousy. Given how bad allergies are this year (darn mild winter) it may be worth it to suffer through the sugar bit. The kitty was squinting, awaiting the flash. You see just mere slits of them.

HAHA...Love the humor you bring to the circumstances torturing you ;)

I think copics are sooo expensive! I just bought prismacolors and I think I'll be happy using those :)

Your cat is adorable!

I totally agree with you about the sewing machine leading you to scrubbing grout with a toothbrush. LOL. I will never be able to buy anything I can sew...at least when the hubby is looking ;)

Shame that you are allergic to something so beautiful Judy.
I have to admit that I'm a bit of a colour junkie. I have Copics and Pro Markers but also Marvy and Adirondack markers, Sharpies, watercolour pencils, watercolour palette, acrylics etc etc. You do realise that if you give them away you will pick up a project 10 days later where you need them again.

Thanks for visiting my blog earlier - much appreciated

Bleurgh to allergies, they can just take a hike! You made me laugh reminding me about OHPs, oh the times I smudged a carefully planned transparency. And secretaries (or whatever)? They are the mortar in a company's bricks and should SO have a spa day. Or least a cupcake ;-) #36

Hi Judy that looks like one organised but busy desk. I used to make "death by viewgraphs" for the OHP's....in a previous job, good times!
Thanks for sharing and happy WOYWW, hugs Erika.

So sorry you're suffering with the yellow allergies, Judy, but glad you've got a beautiful kitty to keep you company. Nice busy desk! Thanks for your nice comment on my blog about my knitting - I'm afraid the reason for the recliner is that I'm poorly with M.E. and do spend a lot of time there, but fortunately I can still be creative, even if my heart is yearning to be upstairs in my ARTHaven making a nice messy desk lol!!

Hi, Thanks for visiting me. Sorry to hear the hayfever is rife with the yellow blossom. We did get rain here (LOADS OF IT) which I suppose accounted for my hip being EXTRA stiff at badminton yesterday! There it goes again MORE rain today too. BJ#51

Annie said...

I heard a tip on the radio the other day and that is if you know when you normally start to suffer your hay fever you should for a few weeks before have a spoon full of LOCAL honey every day. It's supposed to really help you build up resistance.
Hope that helps...even though it may be too late for you for this year :-(
Hugs,

Insanely, it would make things so much easier if you were allergic to red sports cars....I'm sorry that you suffer so - my best advice is not to suffer in silence. Ahem. I notices the tidied cubbies...panicked a bit..thought you were leaving the dark side. I bet the Spa Day voucher got lost in the post gal, go ahead and ask!! Despite Copics, I used my Marvys until they died. ANd then I missed them. Now I don't even use the Copics. Bad investment!

Of course you should be at a day spa , you have allergies and must be looked after. Shame the yellow bouquet caused such problems but looks like the red car will make up for everything. Enjoy you secretary day the cat certainly looks like she is thrilled. to be at home.

WOW sounds like you are having a really crappy day! I read in a post about the honey. It has been proven to help most mild to moderate seasonal allergy sufferers so if you can stand it take it like medicine...spoonful in the morning and in the evening I read somewhere. I use it in tea. I am having trouble around here with all the pollen and molds and crud this year. Tornados seem to kick up all the bad stuff and we have had tornados within a mile of the house the last 3 years. YUK!! Get better. Just saw you are a stamp addict too...honey won't help! Vickie#41

Allergies can be the very "Devil".I take Olive Leaf extract.South Australia where I live is in grain growing area.Echinacea is also good for runny nose.I can't take that as it gives me asthma. But Mum does, and she has hardly any allergies now.

I haven't seen an overhead projector in years..... and the 4 wheeled roller skate you mentioned on my card, well I haven't seen them in years either but the specific request for the card was a 4 wheeled skate not inline style so I guess they must still sell them??!! Desk is looking good! x

Me again :) Thanks for popping by mine. Believe me I DO regularly wail and moan about only having two shelves. I really think I should be allowed to dispose of all the DVD's taking up space on another shelf so I could have that. Trouble is we moved last year to a nicer, quieter, safer area but it meant less space so had to take two massive holdalls of books to the charity shop (it was so HARD!) and now have to regularly thin out or have giveaways of old books when I buy new books. Mind you - there are some favourites that will never leave ;)

Sorry I am so late - you will see why in my next WOYWW posting. Thanks for visiting and for sharing. Hugs, Neet #3 xx
