On My Mind

The other day I was trying to stand around on one foot and brush my teeth...

Wait, let me back this story up a bit. About a month ago we quit our far away gym and joined a place closer to our house. I started taking an evening yoga class they offer there. Here's the thing with yoga:  if you'd like to find out how non-flexible you are and how poor your balance is--yoga is the class for you!

I wasn't surprised to learn that my balance was so poor, but it was so poor that I was surprised that I am able to walk upright.

Anyway, since my balance is so poor I thought I'd do something about it, so I've been trying to practice standing on one foot. Except that I can't even stand on one foot for more than a tenth of a second so I'm not sure how I can get better at it. I do try though, which is why I was trying to brush my teeth while standing on one foot. I just wanted to share this folly with you in case you hear that I died in a freak bathroom accident. You'll know I probably fell over and jammed a toothbrush deep into my skull.

We call that "the corpse pose" in yoga class.

A peaceful card! Falling and jamming a toothbrush down your throat would not be peaceful. Then someone would need to send you a card like this!

That was such a funny story I nearly forgot about the card! Very nice, and please keep practicing as we don't want you to have any accidents, toothbrush or otherwise xxx

I really did have a laugh about this Judy. When I was young I did yoga for about 8 years and seemed to be surprisingly bendy when I think back on it. I've also tried standing on one foot recently - just wanted to add "don't do it with your eyes closed"!

Your card is lovely and fresh and stylish. Barbxx

After hearing of your handicap, I am thankful I do not have that problem... that said, some folks may call me unbalanced (in other ways).
Love that card Princess J - the colours are beautifully co-ordinated and I love the ribbon treatment you have used
Blessings, and may 2017 be a great year for you

Oh dear - I hope we don't hear of any toothbrush related disasters... 2016 has been bad enough as it is! Counterintuitively, standing on one leg is, of course, nothing to do with your legs, and all to do with your head floating away! Love your floaty dragonfly card - I bet he can stand on one leg.
I hope you're enjoying these festive days, and here's wishing you and yours a peaceful 2017.

Oh boy did you give me a laugh, Judy! Would you believe the doctor actually told hubby to try standing on one foot as an exercise to improve balance in us oldies?! I had actually never heard of that, but sounded like a good idea. However, now I'm going to be sure he doesn't do it when he's brushing his teeth--haha! Pretty card!
