I Must Be High-First WOYWW of the Year

First off, I figured I could join the nosy fun that is WOYWW today because it is the first day back to work and of course, it will be slow so I can visit desks at my leisure...  ...That's where the the being high part fits in.  It is the first day we're open after being closed for ELEVEN WHOLE DAYS.  School starts on the 14th, so obviously I was smoking something to think it would be a mellow day.
Here is my desk as of last night just before bedtime. Yes, I realize that it has been tidied up, but I still have those pesky kittens and I still have to roll the desktop down every night and when I'm away.  If you have been following my blog over the holidays then you know I have been making lots of cards.  To both the left and the right of the desk pad are the few little leftover bits from the Simon Says kit I have been playing with.  On the desk pad is an A Muse stamp set and a card I made.  I mentioned that I need to plan for a workshop so I've been doing that.
I came up with this card for the workshop, but then I hemmed and hawed over it. I wasn't sure if the ladies would appreciate having to cut out the cityscape or not.  I know I don't mind fussy cutting out things, especially things with straight lines, but I know others aren't so keen on it.
So then I came up with this version which has no cutting.  I think I sort of like this one better anyway.  What do you think?  Below is another card I came up with when playing around with my a|s stamps.  This one is just for my stash of sample cards, not one to make at the workshop. As you can see, it has a whole lot of cutting on it.
The Fine Print: All stamps and papers by A Muse Studio, "Love is in the Air" and "Love Conquers All" sets, bubblegum, sugar (white), latte, onyx, and bubblegum hearts cardstock, and cherry, latte, and Memento black inks used.

Happy first WOYWW of the year, Judy! I'm afraid I totally forgot about it - still out of whatever sort of routine I'm usually in (which isn't much lol!) but hopefully will be back on track again next week. There isn't anything worth photographing on my desk anyway, so it's no great loss!

Thanks for your visit. Glad you like my latest Zentangle pattern. I love triangles and designs that feature aspects of 3. I agree about getting lost in the patterns - they can be a bit hypnotic, in the same way as fractals.

Have a great year, with lots of creativity and inspiration!

To be perfectly honest, I like both designs, I guess the second one will be quicker to make but I really like the colour in the first - oh dear, decisions, decisions........ anyway, hope you had a very Happy New Year and that 2013 is a good one for you. Anne x #7

Judy, Happy New Year! Great to see your beautiful desk again and so tidy. I love all your cards especially the last one.
Hope you had a super Christmas, all the best for a crafty 2013, hugs Erika. 59

I like em both and I would put this sort of straight line cutting to the workshop ears without even thinking about it....but then I'm not as nice as you are!

I like all the cards so I can't give advice. I have found though with my classes most people are lazy and don't want to do any fancy cutting or anything but stick it together so probably the no cut one would be best. Hope you have a Happy and Prosperous New Year! Look forward to your posts in 2013! Vickie #17

Great cards and lovely to see that you cater for those who don't like to cut out skyscrapers. I love the last pic you posted. Wishing you a craft 2013.

Why not offer both cards at the workshop since they both use the same elements, then everyone is happy! I bet your workshop is a hoot with your personality, would love to be there, just to meet you! And to answer your question, yes, all my VD things are done..I have to be ready early! Sorry I am late getting around but I had to put up all the VD things at the Art MoB yesterday! busy, busy! waving hi from the cloudy hills of North Carolina :)

Happy New Year! I like both versions - I think the one without the cutting would be best for the workshop - that's just my lazy old opinion! xx

Completely missed the fact that it was Wednesday...
Love your workshop cards - could you offer both options? I think they're both fabulous - and the cutting's not that strenuous (at least no curves!) - and then the lazy types could go one way and the adventurous ones the other!!

Never mind Judy, I'm more than making up for lack of slowness at work, but I suspect that won't make you feel any better, lol!! You've been really busy with lots of cards over the break, loved your letter to Michaels, they are getting way too sharp for their own good. Hope you have a wonderful 2013.

Honestly? I prefer the ones with all the cutting, though there is nothing wrong with the other one. Had a similar day at work yesterday. We'd been closed for 11 days (it's a library) and obviously everyone had read everything book they posessed over the holidays and was starved for new material. We were pulling people down off breaks, glad I finished at 5!! On a more personal note, Happy New year, sorry I haven't been round much but Dec was hellishliy busy - doing what I don't really recall so hopefully it was fun. Looking forward to your wonderful humour throughout 2013!! Love n hugs, Cindy x
