Workdesk Wednesday Strikes Again

Hello Friends, Followers and Freaks!  Welcome to another edition of WOYWW-What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday.  This is the time we all get to get nosy and check out tons of others' work spaces and see what they are up to.  Check it out at Julia's blog Stamping Ground!

In the interest of not boring you to tears, I won't upload the same picture of my desk for the 3rd week in a row since my desk looks like it did the week before and the week before that since I haven't been around to play on it.  I willl share a photo of where I was playing last night--my parent's dining table. I did have to pack it up back up becaues they actually eat at that table--totally barbaric if you ask me.  Never fear, today is Wednesday and I shall pull it back out again.
You can see the card I made yesterday, acrylic blocks, little ink pads in a baggie, my glasses, some punches, papers, and random goodness.  Out of sight are those darn magazines I'd been wanting to get to.  I am once again working out of my little rolly cart back here in New Mexico.

My Father passed away on February 3, after a short battle with an illness.  He hasn't been a well man for awhile and he was ready to go.  I'm sad and I'll miss him but I'm happy that he went out on his own terms--he was still able-bodied, had a fully functioning brilliant mind, and was at home.  You can't beat that with with a stick.

The Fine Print: stamps by A Muse Studio "Just Because" set, punches by Martha Stewart, papers by DCWV, inks by Memento.

I'm so sorry that your dad died, but I agree with your sentiments entirely. He went well. It's still a tough time though...
It seems a weird time to say that I thoroughly enjoy your blog and that's why I've nominated you for an award. If you go to my blog you'll see the details, but I completely understand if you don't.
Take care, thinking of you..

I think it definitely makes things a little easier to bear if you know that they were ready to go and in the way they would have wanted. I'm glad that you can still keep busy crafting, wherever it is and who ever heard of a dining table for eating from? Huh? I ask you! ;-)

Sorry to hear about your Dad passing. i lost my Dad last year. He too was active and had his full facillities right up to the end. He went to the farm (that he sold to my little sister) everyday from about 10am till 6 pm "to work". He went every day right up to the day he went into the hospital. He passed 5 days later.

Prayers for you!

Hi Judy - Saint Pixie calling :) Trust me, I have too many bad habits for sainthood. Good to see you still managing to craft in NM - but, as you say - totally barbaric to expect you to clear the dining table so it can be eaten at :) Loved the further words about your Dad.

I'm a day late hopping back to say hi - must do better in future :( Di xx

Princess Judy,

So sorry to hear about your father. The hurt is the same, no matter what. Where are you in New Mexico? I live in Los Alamos. Maybe next time you visit we can meet up?!?

I’m so sorry to hear your sad new about your dad but it sounds as though he went with dignity which is a big thing in this day and age. I bet your mum is pleased that you are able to stay with here at this time, for support.
I love your makeshift craft space. You seem to have all your essentials around you so it looks like you’ve been crafting there forever.

Happy Crafting!

Aw Princess Judy, being a grown up sucks sometimes. I'm very sorry for your loss, that your Dad has gone to heaven, and cannot agree with you more strongly about how much a 'good death' can help those of us left behind. It's good that you can stay around for your Mum, and happy that you can find time for some craft therapy.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I found out that a very old friend of mine died this morning so perhaps they are together having a chat! My friend was poorly and had been suffering so she like your dad is now free of pain and suffering.
I agree with you about using a dining room table for eating, though I have my own desk - I feel your pain!!
Knitting still not quite finished but needles have been going 19 to the dozen this evening, hence my late visit! Hugs to you xxx
