Welcome to the 143rd WOYWW

WOYWW = What's on Your Workdesk Wednesay--a crazily addictive blog wherein a bunch of zany crafters share their work spaces, warts and all.  You can visit Stamping Ground to meet our wonderful hostess, Julia Dunnit, and see what all the fuss is about.  Here's a fine example below, my desk!
I went for a wider view this time so you can see more.  Starting on the left is a tall stack of Iris carts that holds frequently used items, or rather what used to be frequently used items.  I suppose one of these days I should reorganize that to make it be more useful.  I use the top two drawers a lot-decorative scissors and my Marvy ink pads & Sticklers.

On top of that is a hodge podge of card bases.  In front of that is a plastic bin of random kits.  They used to be in various baggies but I have a plastic bag eating cat now.  The flowered plastic shoebox is my travel box of supplies.  The box of plastic bins has solid colored cardstock pieces sorted by color.  I access those a lot.

You can see all the different organizational bins on top of my desk.  All sorts of things are in them--cat eye inkpads, Marvy markers, bulky paper flowers, decorative tape, staples, ribbon charms, scrapper's floss, shaped paperclips, my stash of snippets, sponges, water brushes and blender pens, my mini anvil for eyelet setting, my giant double-stick tape tape dispenser.  The purple squirt bottle is to clean stamps and keep cats in control.  There is a desk organizer with scissors, rulers, paper piercers, and the like as well as a built-in tape dispenser.

The black cart to the right of my desk has a basket of ribbons and random projects on top of it.  In it is ribbons, stickers, dimensional stickers, more ribbons, bling and pearls, embossing powder, a tag maker and other more light weight things.  The pile in front of that is my latest Club Scrap boxes with some magazines, catalogs and papers mixed in with my new Stampin' Up purchases and a border punch I used.  Things I'm working on or with often end up right there in a pile.

There is the usual assortment of stuff UNDER my desk.  There is the usual random stuff ON my desk.  One of the side shelves (I call them cutting boards but would slaughter anyone who cut into them) is opened up and has a box of pink and red embellishments on it with a House Mouse Card on top.  I love, love, LOVE those cutting boards that I can pull out for added space and push in when not needed.
On my desk is a project I abandoned for the evening.  I wanted to make a cute card with a fairy stamp from this set of stamps I got free in a magazine a long time ago. You see as far as I got.  There are left over pink papers from my House Mouse card, some circular die cuts, new pom pom ribbon from Stampin' Up, tapestry needles that I just found to repair the burgandy colored strap that's barely peeking into the photo.  In the upper right corner you can see my stack of new stamps that are waiting for me to use them.
That's it for Wednesday's post.  Stay tuned tomorrow when I'll give you an up close and personal look at that HM card and maybe I'll have a fair card for you... and who knows what else!

Love your sense of humor! Your posts are really funny. Nice coffee cup tag, I recently posted a 'Latte" inspired card that looks similar. Fun!

What a fabulous workspace - it's like Christmas and must be very inspiring. I spy a fish tank in the background, hope they don't give you as much hassle as mine give me - I thought they'd be an easy pet but I just seem to be forever cleaning them and fixing filters! Thanks for stopping by my blog :)

I can identify with the plastic eating cat. We have a plastic (and anything else) eating dog. Her most expensive meal was DH's hearing aid - not a popular pup on that occasion. She does assist in making us more tidy. Nothing can be left within range. Thank you for coming over for a visit and your very kind comments. xx Maggie #9

What a fun crafty space you have going there!! And the close up of the pic you colored is GORGEOUS!!!

Well, you caught me...It IS a hamster wheel on my desk. I can't help it...it just matched my craftroom so well. My daughter hasn't noticed her hamster is missing...yet!

Actually I have NO IDEA what it is! I found it at Goodwill a while back, brought it home and spray painted it silver (I think it was black.) I decided I would find someway to use it...but so far, I'm still looking! If you see it straight on, it looks like it's designed to look like an old film canister. But it actually is hinged and opens up into two half-circles. If it lays down flat, it almost looks like it would hold a bottle of wine and glasses...except there's no bottom. You know...I think I might write a new post..."what the heck is this thing?!?!"

Thanks for taking a peek at my workdesk!

Everything and everywhere ought to have one of those slidey out boards (you call them cutting boards). I love them but only have the one on the computer desk (which now does not hold a computer - taken over for crafting and computer now a lap top)
Thanks for sharing all that storage you have (fabulous) and commenting on my blog. Hugs, Neet 19 xx
ps my son and partner bought me my first pasta machine and she expected to have fresh pasta next time they came. Shock horror to find it was for clay.

Oh I do love your desk! Something so wonderful about roll tops and those side boards are to die for! I pull out the little drawers on either side of mine and use them similarly. Thanks for the wide view!!!

You have a great and fun space. I love the roll top desk with the cutting boards. Very cool.

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier. The reason I used beware for my puppy layout was because when we first got her, I was afraid of her. Sounds silly now but that was my world when I was 12. :) Linda #114

Excellent question! Cats who eat plastic should have poo that comes pre-packaged. I had another cat who ate rubber bands. Made for an interesting scooping session.

Princess Judy Palmer said...

The fish in the background are no fuss at all! That's because the hubby takes care of them. The bigger tanks regulate themselves better than the smaller ones once they get nicely established. It gets a vacuum, water change, and filter replacement once a month while I'm at my stamp club meeting. We have a smaller tank and it gets the same but he takes the filter out and rinses it about once a week.

Princess Judy Palmer said...

Ohmygosh! Having a dog eat a hearing aid ranks right up there with the stories of the dog eating the engagement ring. Why are pets so weird?!

Princess Judy Palmer said...

My cutting boards are usually pushed in as I have to be careful not to bash the arms of my chair into them. I pull them out a lot during a project but pick up and push them in again once its done. I prefer armless chairs but I have a habit of stacking things next to my desk and then leaning over to the side to pick them up. I've seriously injured my hip doing that so... hubby's orders, chairs with arms!

Princess Judy Palmer said...

The cat that eats plastic bags is tortoiseshell and all tortoiseshell cats are insane. That's the best reason I can come up with why Poppy eats plastic bags. She likes the zip loc type plastic, not like grocery sacks. She chews on it mostly but then a piece comes off and she swallows it. She's nuts, what can I say?

Wait, I think you have a spare inch just to the left there ;-) And I love your wee mousy card!
