No Nudity

A friend of mine says that mail isn't nearly as fun when it comes in a plain envelope. To that end, she never sends out a naked envelope herself. She decorates her envelopes with a snippet of designer paper that coordinates or matches what she used on the card.

Whenever I do workshops with her I always come out the other end with a matching envelope because she insists. That's quite fine. I don't send naked envelopes myself, jazzing them up with stickers or washi tape or both. This time though, I embraced my Inner Susan and made this card and matching envelope.

The Fine Print: All products by Stampin' Up except the actual envelope. My friend says if you cut up your designer paper into 6x6 hunks you can get a card with matching envelope from each square. That works if you use A2 envelopes. I don't usually have A2 envelopes as I get A6 ones free from work from the recycle bin after graduation. However, this year I only got about 25 of them but I did get a nice fat bundle of A2 envelopes for my birthday. Expect to see more decorated envelopes!

I shall, I SHALL (expect to see more decorate envelopes!).

I wholeheartedly agree with your friend. As card designers and stampers and paper cutters, it's a lovely gesture to pimp up the envelopes to go with our artistic creations!

Love the look of this card - and it's matching envelope.

I do enjoy decorated envelopes, and really ought to put more effort into making them. (I'm also trying to decorate the inside more.)
I did make some envies out of designer paper for a while, but I got rid of most of the stuff I didn't really like for cards(which was what I was using for envies), so I haven't made any recently. (And yay free envelopes from work!)
The card itself is lovely -- I like that tulip stamp.

Your friend taught you well! The envelope truly does look better all fancied up to match the card! I don't know that I've ever decorated a flap, but I do like to link the envies with matching paper - another fun idea! Pretty colors, ribbon and dsp on this one!
