Time's Slipping Away

An artistically inclined friend of mine brought some items together so we could all make cards. I must have gotten distracted by a shiny thing along the way because I ended up losing the hands to the clock she provided.
I decided to go ahead and call the card done because time has always been a slippery concept for me anyway. I'm one of those people who can't wear watches because they quit working in short order (both my brothers were the same way; it must be our alien blood) and I've never been good about estimating time.

I thought the card was rather cool but I felt that maybe it was trying to make an artistic statement, except I don't know what that statement is. What do you think?

The Fine Print: Clock die by Cheery Lynn, everything else.... who knows, but that bit inside the clock is fabric so it probably came from a fabric store!

Hi there Judy,
... yep rather cool indeed, I like, as when it appeared on what was my dashboard but now is my reading list, (😑Not happy re changes Mr blogger, just case you hadn't heard) ..
......anyways as I was saying I just had to pop by and say yup good card, who says a clock has to have hands anyway!! I bought one of the China dies of a clock on eBay and I reckon I'm going to lose the hands too.
Thanks for sharing, 😊

I really like how you added the flower in the center of the clock! I think that is so cute! Who wants to be distracted by reading the time on the clock anyhow - and how would you pick which time to do? Lovely card, TFS!

What a good choice to add the flower to the center of the clock. Wonderful colors, and card design Judy.

I think the statement must be: A brilliant blaze of fall. Love the flame of the red with the bright yellows (and of course that fab maple leaf). How cool to add a sunflower as part of the dial. Who misses the clock hands?! My DH can't wear watches for the same reason. And he's tried many different kinds - from the cheap Timex to more expensive watches. They all quit working. Who knew he was an alien?!!! TFS & Hugs

I'd say that time just marches on whether you have hands or no hands. It's inevitable - time never stops unless of course you're an alien wearing a watch! LOL You made a great card in spite of not having the hands to the clock. I like the leaf and sunflower accents - perfect reminders of fall!

The best sort of clock is one without hands Judy, I don't wear a watch because I like to do things when I am ready rather than when it is 'time'.
A great card, the flower fits in the middle of the clock beautifully, was it part of the image? Lovely rich colours.

I don't mind a clock without hands. That's pretty cool that you are an alien. Cool card design!

Time is such a relative thing. A flower works for me. Hugz
