Merry Monday Candy Cames

This week at Merry Monday we are being asked to make cards with candy canes on them. When I first heard that I was distraught that I had recently gotten rid of my candy came stamp. Now hear me out... I'd used this thing to death, on the front of cards, on the back of cards, on the front of envelopes, on the back of envelopes... frankly I was sick of it. Also, it wasn't the the only candy cane I owned, so I have no idea why I had a moment of panic.
Besides this candy cane has a penguin with it and that makes it much more festive and fun. For some archaic reason I was bound and determined to stamp him on glossy paper. It took 5 tries to get the image to come out decent. I wasn't getting a smooth coverage on his little penguin wings.
The Fine Print: Stamp by Art Impressions, stitched die by A Muse Studio, picot circle die by Spellbinders, border punch but Stampin' Up, ribbon and designer paper from my stash.

Really cute card and image. With as many stamps as card makers have sometimes there are images that we have few of. Fortunately you can use the candy cane and penguin in more than one challenge.

Yup, a penguin with a candy cane is always cuter than just a candy cane.

It is adorable! I like the look of glossy cardstock and I am always surprised when it only takes one impression, lol. Glad you still had a stamp that would work!

Oooh glossy card - that's second only to acetate for trickiness. Love this little pengy! Hugs, Jayne x

Glossy cardstock eh? You are brave my friend :) I still have some but rarely ever use it anymore. I do love that fun little penguin though - he looks cute holding that extra large candy cane!

I am glad you persevered with your cute little penguin holding that candy cane (almost bigger than him!). Thank you for joining us at Merry Monday this week!

First time I've seen a penguin with a candy cane. Made my heart glad to know Penguins like such. Good job with the coloring and I'm glad the moment of panic passed/ Penguins with candy canes are much more interesting than just a candy cane anyhow. Also like the subtle neutral background too! Wonderful card Princess J - love that penguin holding the candy cane :-) - do you have a MISTI?? - it saves loads of heartache when images don't stamp well the first time!!!
When I emboss brads, I hold them with tweezers that have to be squeezed to open - sort of reverse action tweezers.
Blessings
