Workdesk Wednesday #315

Here we are again at Workdesk Wednesday, not that I have a lot to titillate you with this week but I do have a desk. I got rid of that last little plastic bin up top and put my pencil cup up there instead. I'm still reaching over to the old spot whenever I need a writing utensil. I'm sure one of these days this old dog will learn a new trick.
I have a pretty random assortment of stuff on my desk. From left to right I have a little bowl of brads and pieces, some paper things I want to work on, my pretty pink sparkly princess supply box, that cat proof tape dispenser, my felted covered notebook, red white and blue papers and supplies for Independence Day card making, a pocket letter, some cards, my new A Muse catalog, some card bases, my friend's Big Shot platform (don't ask), and some more papery things.

I haven't played much so I don't have much to share, but I do have other people's things to show off. This really cool bokeh technique card I got in a swap:
And this fancy birthday card/present that my friend sent me. She says it is called a pocket card and is the latest rage. As you can see, it is an ATC pocket page with little cards tucked into each pocket. Since this is for my birthday behind each card are little crafting presents like bling, ribbon, fancy tags, and the like.
The Fine Print: Is this a coincidence that I just emptied out all my ATC sheet protectors or do you think my friend has been spying on me?  Stamps and punches on the bokeh card by Stampin' Up.

As long as you both know that without the parts that each of you have, the Big Shot mid neither Big nor a SHot. I am reassured by your not instantly adapting to the new pen pot position. Loving the pocket page idea, but like, well, you know, sometimes even ONE card design is a stress!!!

I've seen quite a few of those pocket cards lately. They are truly unique and all so different. I sure like what you got.

I promise not to ask why just the platform, so will go directly to thanking you for the previous visit to both my WOYWW post AND my SOC post. Happy WOYWW from # 5.

I totally grinned over the supplies being princess ones :) love the pocket page gift too :) and it will be interesting to see if you move the pens back before you teach yourself the new spot. ( I still reach in my old spot for mine) and then do the V-8 moment.

I think the pocket page is a fab gift for a crafter. Lucky you.

I keep seeing these pocket cards - they seem like a lot of work!! And I went rummaging for my ATC holders the other day as well... Ah well at least with the pen pot thing you remember what you were looking for - I keep going places and can't even remember why (so I don't even KNOW if I'm in the right place or not). Happy WOYWW Cindy x

I love these pocket cards I've been seeing. Some are called pocket letters and one of the pockets contains a letter. I haven't made any - they look so time-consuming - but what a lovely gift and keepsake. Your friend's bokeh card looks beautiful too - another technique I've been wanting to try. Maybe you will end up putting the pen holder back in its original spot hehe - we'll see next Wednesday!

I do like that ATC pocket present page idea. And I had a go at the Bokeh technique just a while ago. Quite enjoyed it.
Where are the cats?

I have no idea what Bokeh technique is! Some sort of esoteric Oriental martial art maybe? Or possibly a wicked cocktail...

Hi PriƱcess Judy, I thought I would visit this morning, to see what's going on in your little corner...and it's a birthday! Happy Birthday, for whenever it was! (I'm late posting & visiting this week)
The ATC card/present is a fun idea for a crafter. I may give it a try myself. Very pretty.
Love the bokeh-effect card. It never occurred to me, that you could try to replicate the effect in paint or ink - really clever. Great colour scheme also.
Anyway, as I'm so late this week, it's now the weekend, so I hope you have a lovely one!

I must admit I have just heard of and learnt what a pocket letter is today while surfing the desks of the world and I must admit that is a really cool birthday present.I hope you had a lovely birthday! Vikki #27

I have to be honest, I don't get the whole pocket card thing. I think it's a scheme to get people to buy into PL without actually doing PL. Please do not ever send me one of those.
