Workdesk Wed - Three Zero Four

For today's Workdesk Wednesday shot I have tall view of my desk today that even shows a peek of the outside. I just realized that the wrought iron door sort of makes it look like I'm in a jail cell.  Nope, those doors are just much sturdier than screens and can handle the idle clawing of kitties.

I don't have a closeup view of the stuff on the desk as there isn't much to report about.  There are the usual stacks of things I might work on, the same stack of cling stamps from last week, cards received, scraps, and a corner punch. One project I had finished was front and center on my desk but I removed it as its recipient is a reader of this blog (didn't want to ruin the surprise).

I haven't started the big organizational overhaul of the desk drawers and cubbies yet as I do have some other things to finish up first.  One of them is to prep for a card workshop I am having on the 12th. My friend gave me a lovely postcard inviting me to my own workshop, which I thought was sweet. At first glance I thought she was a whiz with the Stampscapes stamps, but this is a store bought scene.
I recently picked up this stamp set at a used craft sale. I know I've said that I am on a spending moratorium but that doesn't mean I'm never buying another thing. I am just being very cautious with the one or two things I pick up.  This is the only thing I got there. I can't wait to play with them (not that I'll ever have the time).
And here is Poppy kitty, who was sitting on the floor trying to get my attention while I was taking pictures. Since she is a bit rotund she can't get herself thoroughly clean so I've taken to brushing her most evenings. Now she has turned into this black hole of need, crying for attention constantly.  You want to know the trick to send her scurrying?  Break out the cat claw trimmers!  She's not ready for that much grooming.
The Fine Print: My "new" stamps are by Stampin' Up. I really like a lot of their older designs like this; not to diss any of the new designs, but I find myself drawn to these older ones. I'm trying to figure out how to clone myself so my clone can work these 10 hour days (includes lunch and commute) for me so I can have more time to play. If you have suggestions let me know.

Oo, Judy, I do love your desk! I had a rolltop desk, which I bought in pieces and assembled myself (glue, joints, screws, nails and all!). I was fond of it, but when we moved, there was no space for it, so I found it a good home with a friend. I still feel a bit nostalgic for it though - it was an attractive thing, though yours is even nicer - I think your desk is probably older and more nicely made.
Poppy is a very pretty cat. A bit hard on her, that she can't groom herself, but it's nice that she has a willing servant!
Happy Wednesday,

Aww...duh! Forgot to mention the lovely stamps! They would make great birthday cards. I hope I will see some photos of what you make with them, in a future WOYWW post?

LOL for the cat claw trimmers! My dachshund use to run down the hall and dive underneath the bed every time the hubs opened the drawer that housed the claw clippers! LOL Too much fun, and I love that little stamp with the kitties in the hat! I know you couldn't resist that one!! Want a box of uncolored stamped images to toss onto that desk???? LOL

I always enjoy a peek into your craftroom! What a great space you have! The card from your friend is beautiful! Your new stamps are adorable - I see kitties on those stamps!

Thanks for sharing the photo of Poppy - I think she could give my Honeydew (20 lb) a run for his money. Both of my cats cry for attention, especially Kiwi, and it's every day, several times a day. Yes, the claw clippers do put a stop to it, luckily, but it is short-lived! Brian's cat only craves attention from him but occasionally she will give me the time of day.

You could always send the cats out to work while you recline on your sofa, eating delicate morsels and sipping the finest wines....whilst occasionally dallying with your new stamps. It's a hard life, being indolent......:-)
Shame work gets in the way of life, isn't it?!!

Your desk is still looking a bit too unnaturally tidy for my liking, it is unnerving. Great new stamps hun, can't wait to see what you make with those beauties. Awwh Poppy, darlin', where have you been hid?! Not that you can be hidded much when you is that rounds. I hopes you makes mom do the bottom ends too. Squishy hugs xx

You could always do what I do and don't sleep for a few days and catch up every now and then, yes still working but coming home and not going to bed helps. Or you could try doing the time warp LOL Bit lonely that desk it needs activity. Poppy is a beautiful puddy tat and the more you love them the more they want.

Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a wonderful Easter.

She certainly is rotund, but beautiful! We gave up doing our puppydog nail many years ago when we both were bleeding after trying & no nails got cut! I so remember the 10+ hr days & now can't imagine how I did it! I love easing into retirement with my very part time schedule & can't believe I'm really turning 65 in less than a year--time does go fast! There's light at the end of your tunnel, Judy!

Happy Good Friday Judy, sorry this is late. oh all furbabies do not like nail trims. ( we have a lab and its fun to lay on her and hold her down for them :) ) I love that you have a whole wall of tools and things behind the door. :)

Hi Judy, I've been doing some tidying up today. I have got to stop buying stuff until I use some up, I need blinkers. Your cat sure is a big girl! I have found the only way to have more time is to retire and unfortunately even then the family find you other things to do so it is still difficult finding enough time for everything.
Hope you have a lovely Easter with hugs, Angela x
