I Survived!

I had these kit cards that I never finished up because they involved the technique I hate the most, no matter what anyone else thinks it is--heat embossing.
Heat embossing tends to frustrate me to no end. Or I should say it used to. These days I have superior tools to work with--I have the Milwaukee heat tool and not the nambsy pansy Marvy one.
I have an excellent store bought antistatic powder bag and not some shoddy home remedy trick that doesn't work. I have a fine point sable brush to brush away any excess powder that just might hang around anyway.
I have a well inked Versafine pad and not the always dry Colorbox ones, and I have superior embossing powder and not that shoddy crap that was all you could find at one time.
Yet, heat embossing still brings out the major anxiety in me.  It must be that old habits die hard, because as you can see I survived making these four cards just fine.

The Fine Print: Card parts by Club Scrap, the Tribal kit, enhanced with EP and embellishments from my stash.  Don't tell anyone, but I actually had fun making these cards despite the anxiety.

I think heat embossing is what sucked most of us into this money pit of a hobby. I'm glad to see you have good tools and are working through you anxiety. I still smile at the melty magic every time I heat emboss. It's the little things in life.

Next up: I'm working on stamping straight.

Ohhhhh fab heat embossed cards...and you are right...it's the right tools that make the difference. I use heat embossing as an excuse to set stuff on fire in the craft room, it's therapeutic :D

You survived just great and they're all beautiful! I simply love that second card but they're all so pretty I can't choose a favorite.

These are great, and embossing is lots of fun if you have the right tools. Apparently you have them now, b'cause these turned out perfect! I especially love the last one with that round medallion.
Sorry you couldn't get to the tutorial for my card today, but you have to sign up for MFP's ning network to see it. It's easy, and if you want the tute, I'll see what I can do :)

Not only did you survive, but you did a slam bang job of embossing! I don't like heat embossing either. I hate that embossing powder that seems to take over the room and get on everything!
