What a Corker

I found this scan of a card I made back in 2012 and it doesn't appear I ever shared it with you, so today is your lucky day! It is an old technique where you use cork.
I heat embossed the image on cork and then colored it with chalk and a wet brush, or maybe Q-tip, or maybe a water brush.  You get the idea--I used a damp thingy not wet chalk.

The Fine Print: Image by Copper Leaf, cork by Magenta, faux brads by Candi, papers from my stash. How about that? Heat embossing and chalk all on one card! Whoo Whee!

Corking! (Although that hasn't existed as an exclamation of approbation in the UK since about the 1950s... but you know what I mean.) Love it!

Who knew you could stamp and color an image on cork? Not I! It turned out really cool with that great south-western scene! NJ!

uhm....when i really look at it it's cool but it kind of reminds me of the Everybody Loves Raymond show when Marie made a sculpture and everyone thought it looked like a woman's body part. bwhaaaaa it was one of my favorite episodes.

This technique is so old I've never heard of it.
Your image looks very Arizona-y.

Thanks for an introduction to a 'new to me' technique Princess J. Love your card - the plain background really lets the cork show off.
