Squee! A Folded Tree

I wandered off to my big stamp club meeting pondering what Christmas cards I should make for this month's Rudolph Day where Sarn says we have to show off not one, but two holiday cards. I found the answer at the stamp club meeting.
This month's Mistress of Make 'n Take showed us how to paper fold a lovely Christmas tree.  She even gave us an embossed background to mount our tree on and sparkly star for the top.  It was a well-received project with everyone jumping in to try it and enjoying themselves doing so.
I took mine home and turned it into a full blown card, putting bling on my tree and a greeting in the corner.  I then turned about and made a winter scene one using a pre-printed card base.
This is a fun quick project.  Our Mistress of Make 'n Take assured us that this is not origami because origami is hard and this is not hard.  Those were just the words I needed to hear.  Those are my two Christmas cards for Rudolph Day.  Only one more to go before The Big Day.

The Fine Print: My hubby assured me this is origami.  He's not a paper crafter, what does he know? Designer papers by Hot Off the Press (first card) and Die Cuts With a View (bottom card), embossing folder by Stampin' Up, both greetings by A Muse Artstamps, and felt snowflake from my stash.

Origami or tea bag folding . . . whateverrrr! It's a TERRIFIC result. Love the cute folded tree against the embossed background AND the scenic one you made. WTG.

Thanks for playing along with Rudolph Day PJ.

Love em. It kinda is origami, but it's like everything...if you don't know it's difficult, it's easy! I never knew that making mayonnaise was difficult until a friend expressed surprise that it never 'split' hen I added the oil....and thereafter, I'm scared to make it!

Mmmm interesting, this looks hard to me so I would say it is Origami or some type of tea bag folding, looks good though, great die too.

I like them both. Coming home and making the second one probably was a great way to ensure you'll remember how.

When I first saw this, I though ack! Origami! Glad to see it's not Origami. If I can find directions, I may just have to try this! Your cards are awesome!

I found directions last night and made one of these trees. It took a few tries to get it right, but I finally got it done. I ended up having 2 rows at the bottom. I ended up folding the leftover piece and thought I'd add it instead of having to do 3 more to go with it. Love it. Thanks for the inspiration. (You'll be seeing it on Merry Monday later this month.)

I've made these for years, and they are so fun! I say it's not origami since you cut the paper, but then what do I know. It's a very happy tree, and a superb way to use up holiday paper remnants.

Hi Princess Judy. Sorry to have been MIA for a bit. Saw a pretty folded tree over at Bonnie's, and she had an inspiration link to your lovely cards. Zipped over to say Hello and enjoy these 2 gorgeous trees. I don't do tea bag folding, but all the folded trees I'm seeing, are making me wish I did know how. Might have to check out some instruction links. Loved each of the cards you've shared, and of course, the creative touches you always add to make the design your very own! Take care, and Happy Thanksgiving. TFS & Hugs
